MESSAGE #638 - A LOVE STORY


When playwright

Charles MacArthur

first met Hollywood starlet

Helen Hayes at a party . . .

he was eating peanuts.

For Charles it was

love at first sight.

He nervously offered the

famous actress some of his

peanuts.


As he put some peanuts into

her hands he blurted out,

“I wish they were emeralds.”

After many years of being

happily married, Charles

bought his wife Helen an

emerald necklace as an

anniversary gift.


When Charles handed it to his

beloved wife, she said,

“I wish they were peanuts.
