If you play
not to lose —
you lose!
To get great
ideas,
breakthroughs,
and innovation,
you must accept,
even embrace,
mistakes and,
if managing others,
provide an
environment
where it is
perfectly safe
to make mistakes.
Learn what you can
from every
goof-up,
take steps
to prevent repeating
dumb mistakes,
but beware of the
“excellence at any cost”
attitude —
it’ll probably cost you
more than it’s worth.
In today’s downsized,
lean ‘n’ mean situations,
a key managerial skill
is compromise,
knowing
when it is best
to settle for
less than perfection.
