The hardest thing
in the world
is to put
feeling,
deep feelings,
into words.

MESSAGE #1282 - HOW TO BE THE NEXT SCHOPENHAUER
The finest thought
runs the risk
of being
irrevocably forgotten
if
we do not
write
it
down.

MESSAGE #1055 - HOW TO BE THE NEXT IRVING STONE
When
I have trouble
writing,
I step outside
my studio
into the garden
until my mind
clears –
I find weeding
to be
the best therapy
there is
for
writer’s block.

MESSAGE #1054 - HOW TO BE THE NEXT SOMERSET MAUGHAM
Writing
is a
wholetime job:
no professional writer
can afford
only to write
when
he feels like it.

MESSAGE #878 - HOW TO BE THE NEXT IRVING SHAW
Writing
is like
a contact sport,
like football.
Why do kids
play football?
They can get hurt
on any play,
can’t they?
Yet
they can’t wait
until
Saturday comes around
so they can play
on the high school team,
or the college team,
and get smashed around.
Writing
is like
that.
You can get hurt,
but you enjoy it!
