MESSAGE #308 - WHAT A GREAT SCHOLAR CAN TEACH YOU ABOUT LIFE ...

Joseph Campbell (1904-1987) was a college professor and author. He was one of the world’s leading experts on mythology. Campbell received world-wide fame from a series of television interviews he did with Bill Moyers called The Power of Myth. Ironically, this series was broadcast just after he died.

Here are some of Campbell’s most famous quotes . . .

The privilege of a lifetime
is being who you are.

It is by going down
into the abyss that
we recover the
treasures of life.
Where you stumble,
there lies your treasure.

The very cave you are
afraid to enter turns out
to be the source of
what you are looking for.

Follow you bliss
and the universe
will open doors
for you where
there were only walls.

The world is perfect.
It’s a mess.
We are not going to change it.
Our job is to straighten out
our own lives.

If you follow your bliss,
you will always have your bliss,
money or not.

If you follow money,
you may lose it,
and you will have nothing.

We must let go of the life
we have planned,
so as to accept the one
that is waiting for us.
